Actuarial modelling includes the ability to model outcomes based on a series of scenarios and input data in relation to Economic, Expense and Demographic assumptions.

The investment capability within Catalina is accountable for the strategic design, implementation and management of the investment portfolio. The Catalina Investment team is integral to ensuring our asset liability exposure is effectively managed utilising a range of investment vehicles to ensure as a business we operate within out investment and risk guidelines.

The Risk and Compliance functions facilitate the operation of a comprehensive enterprise risk management framework. The primary purpose of the Risk Function is to ensure that Catalina is operating within risk appetite, using quantitative analysis to produce key risk indicators and ensuring processes and controls are designed and operating effectively. The primary purpose of the Compliance Function is to ensure that Catalina is operating within the regulatory regimes in the countries that Catalina operates.

The span of finance capabilities within Catalina are extensive, ranging from operational finance execution activities such as payment processing and cash management through to capital management, business planning and forecasting. Financial forecasting, capital management and business planning are key components enabling informed decisions in terms of business development through mergers, acquisitions, disposal and the development of new lines of business. The ability to effectively report of our financial position through our Capital Management & Reporting capability are critical to Catalina ensuring transparency through to the regulator and our shareholders.
